Garry Eugene Bennett Sr., 52, died Thursday, Oct 26, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Bennett was a native of Bay St. Louis and a resident of Gretna, LA, for 30 years. He was a retired supervisor with the city of Gretna in the Streets and Drainage Department. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Bennett; his mother and stepfather, Margie and James T. Chaney; two brothers, Darrell and Terry Bennett; and a sister, Patricia Murphy.
Survivors include a wife, Sandra A. Bennett of Bay St. Louis; a son, Garry Eugene Bennett Jr. of Bay St. Louis; two daughters, Kelly A. Bennett and Wendy D. Bennett, both of Slidell; a brother, John Chaney of Houston, TX; six sisters, Dorothy Bennett of Slidell, Mary Elaine Leffler of Hattiesburg, Debbie Nellums, Rosemary Riles, Mary Eva Hickman and Lisa Chaney Wilson, all of Wiggins; and a granddaughter.
Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Monday at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis with a service to follow at noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
