Adams, Kenneth E. "Pete"  -  October 28, 2000

Kenneth E. "Pete" Adams, 76, of Peoria, IL, and Bay St. Louis, Miss, formerly of Eureka, IL, died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct 28, 2000, at Hancock County Hospital in Bay St. Louis, Miss.

Born August 14, 1924, in Roanoke, IL, to Marse and Lucy Mae Golden Adams, he married Annabell Meils on December 29, 1946, in Pocahontas, Ark. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Kent (and Donna) of Brentwood, Tenn., Grant (and Paula Salazer) of Griffin, Ga., and Rex (and Ritsuko) of Alpharetta, Ga.; one daughter, Kathy (and Larry) Cobb of Peoria, IL; one brother, Robert of Oquawka; and 10 grandchildren. Two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He attended Eureka College and graduated from Bradley University in Peoria in 1950.

A member of Peoria Independent Insurance Agents, he had worked for Illinois Fire Inspection Bureau and Century Insurance. He then became an independent insurance agent, owning Pete Adams Agency for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Mount Hawley Country Club and Eureka College Alumni board. He also was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria, where he served as elder, Sunday school teacher and past president of the board of directors.

He attended Diamondhead Community Church in Diamondhead, Miss. and its Mens Saturday Breakfast, and was a member of Diamondhead Country Club.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2000, at Glen Oak Christian Church, where visitation will be one hour before. Rev. Dr. Paul B. Isom will officiate. Private family graveside services will be Thursday morning at Olio Cemetery in

Eureka.

Hammit-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Glen Oak Christian Church or any charity of the donor's choice.
