Israel Augustine Ruiz, 94, died Monday, Oct 30, 2000, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Ruiz was a native of Plattenville, La., and was a resident of Bay St. Louis. He was of the Catholic Faith and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Clermont Harbor. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Waveland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgina Duke Ruiz; parents, Augustine and Marie Thibodaux Ruiz; three sisters, Maude Logas, Julia Petrie, Valerie Carite; and two grandsons. Survivors include her two daughters, Shirley Williams and Marion Traub, both of Lakeshore; two brothers, Russell Ruiz of Metairie, La., Arthur Ruiz of Kenner, La.; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be tonight from 7 - 10 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. A service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Jefferson, La.
