diBenedetto, Irma Belle Fahey  -  August 30, 1956

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 9:45 a. m for Mrs. George diBenedetto, who died August 30 in Lourdes, France.

The former Miss Irma Belle Fahey, the deceased who had been ill for sometiie, had made the trip to visit the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes. She died in St. Bernadette's hospital in Lourdes four days after she and her husband arrived in the French city.

Her body was returned to the United States by plane arriving in Bay St. Louis from New York. Tuesday morning about 4 a. m. Mr. diBenedetto had arrived Saturday night.

A Rosary led by Reverend John Robinson of Our Lady of the Gulf Church was said at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock with a large number of friends mourning the passing of Mrs. diBenedetto.

A requiem high Mass was said at Our Lady of the Gulf Church following the service at the funeral home Wednesday morning. Msgr. Michael McCarthy, Pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. John Robinson, Rev. John Leonard, Rev. John P. Mbrtin, Hattiesburg, and Rev. Shermesser, Senaea, Miss. Present for the service was Rev. Neimeyer a former assistant pastor of Our Lady of the Gulf Church and a close friend of the family.

Pall bearers included Dr Marion J. Wolfe, New Orleans; Messrs. Dominic and Joseph diBenedetto, brothers of the widower, Major Harry Benjamin, U. S. A, and Mr. J. C. Roland, brothers-in-law of Mr. diBenedetto and Messrs. John Monti, , Marion Beal, W. J. Lafdntaine, Michael lowers and Kenneth Whitfield.

Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

In addition to her husband the deceased is survived by three children, Fahey Ann, Maria and Leo.
