Charles H. Edgar Jr,; 78, of Diamondhead, died Sept 8, 1997, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Edgar was born Dec 24, 1918 in Quincy, Ill. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and enjoyed a long career with the Celanese Corporation and the Brown Machine Tool Co. He was past president of AARP in Diamondhead.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Amelia Ebbers Edgar Sr.
Survivors include his wife, June Breurer Edgar of Diamondhead; four sons, Peter Edgar of Coral Gables, Fla,; Paul Edgar of Duxbury, Mass., James Wahl of Diamondhead, and David Wahl of Falmouth, Mass,; a daughter, Susan Raine of Lake Zurich, Ill; a brother, Richard W. Edgar of Harbor Ridge, Fla,; and eight grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated Thursday at Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Bay St. Louis.
The family prefers memorial contributions to Hope Haven, Bay St. Louis, or to the charity of choice.
Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
