Gilson, Melvina  -  November 3, 1999

Melvina C. Gilson, 68, of Pearlington, died Wednesday, Nov 3, 1999 in Slidell.

Mrs. Gilson was a native of Detoit, Mich., and a resident of Perlington since 1979. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pearlington and was a respected artist of Jackson Square, New Orleans, where she received the key to the City by Mayor Moon Landriue. She was also active in the nursing profession.

She was preceded in death by her father, Karl Gilson; and a brother, Roman Gilson.

Survivors include a son, William E. Gilson of Pearlington; her mother, Mary Pickett Barnes of New Orleans; four sister, Mary Langley of Lexie, Miss., Gayle Duchesne of Pearl River, La., Sari Shaw of Monticelle, Miss., and Karla Hunt of Pearlington.

Visitation was Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pearlington, followed by celebration of Mass.

Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis was in charge of arrangements.
