Lizana, Carl A.  -  February 20, 1961

Carl A. Lizana, 48, owner and operator of White Cap Drive Inn at Mississippi City, died at 4:25 A. M. today at his home, 44 53rd St., Bayou View, Gulfport. Although Mr. Lizana had been in ill health, his death was unexpected.

Mr. Lizana was born in Bay St. Louis on Sept. 3, 1912. He had been a resident of Gulfport for 40 years, educated in the Gulfport City Schools.

He was the son of the late Onelia E. Peterson and William A. Lizana.

Mr. Lizana served with the U. S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre of Operations in World War II. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Joe Graham Post 119, American Legion, Moose Lodge, Elks Lodge 978, and Great Southern Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Theral M. Lizana, Gulfport; two sons, Carl A. Lizana, Jr., and Billy Joe Lizana, Gulfport; one daughter, Carlene Lizana, Gulfport; a step-daughter, Mary Jo Langston; one sister, Mrs. Vera Lewis, also of Gulfport; and four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from Lang Funeral Home in Gulfport with the Rev. John Rietti, assistant pastor of St. John's Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Rosary will be said tonight at 8 o'clock at Lang Funeral Home.
