Mauffray, Mae (Sister Mary Gertrude) - Unknown Date
Sister Mary Gertrude, 57, a native of Hancock County and a teacher in Coast schools for years, died at 7 a.m. Friday at Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg after a lengthy illness.
Sisier Mary Gertrude was the former Miss Mae Mauffray, daughter of Mrs. Sidonia Mauffray and the late Theophile Mauffray of Kiln.
She taught several years at Sacred Heart Academy in Biloxi and St. Joseph School of Pass Christian, before coming to the St. John School in Gulfport last year where she taught for several months.
She is survived by her mother, Mrs Sidonia Mauffray of Kiln; and one sister, Mrs. L. C. Capdepon, Gulfport.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from the St. Frances Xavier Chapel in Vicksburg. Interment will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg.
