Pace, Joan  -  January 28, 1999

Joan Jablonski Pace, 65, of Diamondhead, died Jan 28, 1999 in Diamondhead.

Mrs. Pace was born March 20, 1933, in Huntington, W. V. She was a 1955 graduate of Marshall University. She was an art teacher and an assistant director of the Memphis Park Commission's Art and Hobby Center. She was also a substitute teacher in the Memphis City Schools and taught Sunday School at Mullins United Methodist Church. In 1980 Mrs. Pace and her husband moved to Arlington, Texas, where she worked in a veterinary clinic and studied painting at the University of Texas. She volunteered with children's bookmobile program and was active in the Reach to Recovery program.

Mrs. Pace was a member of Diamondhead Newcomers Club, the Garden Club and the Page Turners Book Club, the Diamondhead Community Church and the Boaters Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph S. Jablonski and Jane Bartles Jablonski.

Survivors include her husband, Duan A. Pace; a daughter, Alison Pace of Little Rock, Ark; a son, Stanley Pace of Norwich Conn; a sister, Mary Jane DeRosa of Jamesburg, N. J. And Ft. Myers, Fla; and a grandson.

A memorial service was conducted Tuesday at Diamondhead Community Church. Her remains will be inurned in Arlington National Cemetery.
