Following Winny’s death, James P. Duncan married Martha Ann Walker on May 27, 1858, in Pike County, Mississippi. Descendants lists 6 more children bom to James and Martha Duncan: Miranda Jane, 1859; William J., 1861;
Myra B., 1863; Sarah Elizabeth, 1865; Charles Felder, 1868; and Louis C.
Duncan.
While this family lived in Pike County, Mississippi, many are buried in the Isaac Duncan cemetery located nearby in Walthall County, Mississippi. This is probably where Winny is also buried, but no head marker has been found. Researchers of this family have much more information if needed.
VI.	Eliza Cameron - bom in 1819 in South Carolina as listed in the 1850 census of
Marion County, Mississippi. That year she had no husband, but 5 children that all use the name Conerly. She also appears in the 1860 census of Washington Parish, Louisiana with 4 of the same children. The record now states she was bom in 1820 in “Mississippi.” In the 1870 census of St. Helena Parish, Louisiana, she is listed as bom in 1815 in South Carolina with 3 of her Coleman grandchildren. Then, in the 1880 census of St. Helena Parish, she is listed as bom in 1820 in South Carolina, living in the home of her daughter, Melissa Hardy.
Eliza Cameron married William Conerly in Marion County, Mississippi on December 23, 1835. William apparently died in early 1848 because we find in Marion County, Bond Book, pages 255 - 256, dated June 17, 1848, “James Dunkin’’ (Winny Cameron’s husband) and Luke Conerly assigned Guardians to 6 minor children: “Caroline Conerly, Melissi Conerly, William James Conerly, John Conerly, Sarah Ann Conerly, and Winny Conerly.” Then a similar record, pages 257 - 259, dated July 18, 1848, Steven and Luke Conerly are made Guardians to “Mary Ann Conerly and Betsy Jane Conerly.” These last two children were the youngest children of William Conerly and his first wife, Sarah Brown. They can be found listed in the 1850 Marion County census. Elizabeth “Betsy” is age 17 (1833) and Mary Ann is age 14 (1836).
In 1974 we received a letter form Nicholas R. Murray of Hammond. Louisiana. He is a great-grandson of Eliza Cameron Conerly, grandson of Melissa Ann Conerly Hardy, and son of Delilah Ann Hardy Murray. He remembered hearing stories about Eliza Cameron Conerly that he shared in his letter. He has also done some serious research on this family.
