Tom Gordon, front and center, ruled with an iron hand, and tfie kids learned readin* and writin? and ?rithmetic in a one-room schoolhouse as shown. Some walked to school and some rode their horses as anyone can plainly see. Asa McQueen, sitting on tihe teachers left, looked about the same then as now, but younger.
