Early June	.	-	.
After reading the Sea Coast Echo article'?seating the' contractor is requesting additional days 1 call' Mr. Olsen. ,1 "tell him 1 plan to close to the public on July 19th so I can begin the packing. He says the city gave the contractor an extension and they should be through sometime in late July. Mr. Olsen states they don?t want me moving in while they are working. I agreed.

I call Buzz Olsen to explain that I?ve closed the library to begin packing and ask for a tentative moving date. I inform him that I have people calling and writing trying to plan vacations in the area around the opening dates for the library. He does not answer but mentions the fact the agreement was never signed. I remind him that my attorneys sent it but no action was ever taken by the city. I also tell him we would have to reevaluate it. He then explains that I need to iron out details with the mayor. I say okay but ask about the details. He responds we need to work out the conflict of days/hours. Once again I tell him it isn?t a problem, that the powers that be can hire someone to keep the library other days. (I teach genealogy classes on Tuesday in Spring and Fall and have genealogical related activities on Sat.) He suggests a meeting with the Mayor. He states he would-like to be there and thinks Kay Johnson should be as well. He suggests possibly Wednesday about 1 PM. I tell him to let me know. I never hear anything from him one way or the other concerning a meeting.

I call the Sea Coast Echo and ask Mr. Cuevas to put a notice in that we are closing to pack. The article appears in 28 July issue.
Wednesday PM, I am concerned about leaving the boxed books in the building. The building gets very warm and in the process of packing we noticed mildew on the books. Because of various building maintenance problems I decided the books would be better taken care of in my home until notification of a moving date.

I move the books to Harrison County and write the Mayor a letter briefly stating my concerns. (Copy of letter attached)
July 31
Charles Gray writes me saying how sorry he was that I left and to send him my new phone number when I?m settled.
