Today, amid the celebration and fireworks, the marching bands and picnic baskets, most Americans will take a moment to reflect upon the meaning of this Bicentennial observance. And one word can describe what we should feel as we do: PRIDE.
Pride in our country, its heritage and its history. Pride in ourselves and our forefathers and the roles we’ve played in making today's festive occasion possible.
