TSu object of the special meeting as stated by the Mayor was the appointment of ft City Tax Collector, vice A*<J*Pierl resigned* His Honor, The J-Sayor appoint-ed E.D.Toulrae City Tax Collector, which appointment on motion of Alderman Shrop-slilre seconded by Alderrmn Ladner, ms conflroed, Aldermen* Shropshire, Ladner and Toulme voting Aye, / The Ex Tax Collector, A,3#?lerl presented reoeipts fro® Treasurer Kstappa for taxes collected and paid in the City Treasury to the amount of Twenty Eight Hundred and Eighty nine 21/100 ( § 2889*21 Dollars, which receipts, on etlon of Alderman Toulme seconded by Alderman Shropshire and carried by the Board were received and accepted and the Mayor ordered to redeipt to A*<K Fieri for the same. Beard Licenses to retail vinous and spirituous liquors In less quantities than a gallon were ordered to be granted to Fairchild and Keller, Spotorno & Co* and A,A.Ulmrn upon their filing in the Secretary*s office the lawful bonds & c.
On motion by Aid* Shropshire seconded by Aid Ladner and carried by the Board all Aid* voting Aye. It was resolved that the Street Comiasloner notify Mrs 0* Milteriberger and I*** J* Laugles?’? to repair the banks in front of their respee tive properties and if the sane be not repaired by Monday thr 26th instant that the Street CoaffliSBloner Shall then proceed to repair the same**
