LAWS OF MISSISSIPPI.
Biloxi, so chosen shall, on the clay succccding said election, meet and choose by ballot, from among their own number, a president, who shall be commissioned by the governor as president of the board of selectmen of the town of Biloxi, who shall cx officio be vested with all the powers and discharge the duties vested and required of a justice of the peace within said town, and whose duty it shall be to preside and keep order at the meetings of the selectmen.
§ 21. Beit further cnacted, That- the select-men shall be a body- politic and corporate in fact and name, by the style of the president and selectmen of the town of Biloxi, and shall hare all the powers and enjoy all the rights, privileges and immunities, and be subject to all the liabilities provided by the thirteen first sections of this act, as to the president and selectmen of the town of Shieldsborough. §22. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect, and be in force from and after its passage.

Stufiou. § 1. Be it enacted by the legislature of the State
■	of Mississippi, That the seat of justice for the county of Lauderdale, shall hereafter be callcd and known by the name of Marion.

hereby authorized to hold an election in said town, on the first. Monday in March next, for the purpose of electing five selectmen for said town, who shall hold their offices for ope year.
§ 4. Be it furtherk enacted, That all persons^0 who shall be residents of said town and qualified to vote for state officers shall be allowed to vote at said election.	'	■ _
§ 5. Be it further enacted, That the said Problem selectmen shall choose a president from their own“f11 ol10' body.
§ 6. Be it further endcted, That the said Time or president and selectmen, and their .successors inclecl,0M*-office shall annually, on . the first Monday of March, or within ten days thereafter, hold an election for selectmen of said town.
§ 7. Be it further enacted, That the said pre-Njl,nennd sident and selectmen shall be known and called 6,.vlc-by the name and style of the president and selectmen of the town of Marion, and under that name shall be subject to all the liabilities and entitled to all the privileges of a corporate body in law.
§ 8. Be it further cnacted, That the limits Extent, and boundaries of said town shall be limits and boundaries of the north-west quarter of the northeast quarter, and the north-east quarter of northwest quarter of section no. 36, of township no. 7, of range no. sixteen east, in said county.

Be it further enacted, Tha.t the said town o„o j«3-shall be entitled to one justice of the peace and pCc°Ce.f Ihe one constable, who shall be elected biennially, on the first Monday in April, under the superintendence of the said president and selectmen, which said justice of the peace and constable, when elected, commissioned and sworn according to the laws of this state, governing like proceedings in other cases, shall exercise all the powers which
