SYNOPSIS OF SCENES The entire action of the play takes place on the back, porch of the Archers’ home. It is summer 1943. ACT I Scene 1. About five in the afternoon on a summer’s day.. Scene 2. An hour and a half later. ACT II Scene 1. Late afternoon of the next day. Scene 2. Saturday morning two months later. ACT m Several hours later. There will be a fifteen minute intermission between Acts I and H and Acts II and III. No intermissions between scenes.
