ARTICLE X BOARD OP ADJUSTMENT
Section 1001. ESTABLISHMENT OF THL BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board of Adjustment is hereby created, which shall consist of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and City Council. One member shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years, two members for two (2) years, and two members for one (1) year. Thereafter eadi member appointed shall serve for a term of three (3) years or until his successor is duly appointed and qualified. Members of the Board of Adjustment may be removed from office by the Mayor and City Council for cause upon written charges and after public hearings. Vacancies shall be filled by resolution of the Mayor and City'' Council for the unexpired term of the member affected.
Members of the Board of Adjustment shall serve without pay, but may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the performance of official duties.
Members of the Board of Adjustment shall hold no other public office in the city except that one (1) member may serve as a member of the Planning Commission.
Section 1002. PROCEEDINGS OF nil; BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
The Board of Adjustment shall elect a Giairman and a Vice Chairman, each of whom shall serve for one (1) year or until he is re-elected or his successor is elected. The Board shall adopt rules for the conduct of its business. The Board shall appoint a Secretary, who may be an officer or employee of the city.
Meet.Lngs of the Board shall be held at the call of the Chairman and at such other times as the Board may determine. The Chairman, or in a is absence the Vice Chairman, may administer oaths and compel the attendance of witnesses by subpoena. No member of the Board shall participate in the hearing in which he lias any pecuniary or special interest. All meetings of this Board shall be open to the public.
The Board shall keep minutes of its proceedings, showing the vote of each member upon eadi question, or, if absent or failing to “	vote,	indicating	that	fact, and shall keep records of its examina-
tions and other official actions, all of which shall be immediately fi led in the office of the Board and shall be a public record.
Section 1003. APPEALS, HEARINGS, NOTICE
Appeals to the Board of Adjustment may be taken by any person aggrieved or by any officer, department, board, commission, or bureau of thu City of Hay St. Louis, affected by any decision of
