CHAPTER XII DUTIES OF THE MAYOR AMD CITY CDUNCIL
Section 1201. DUTIES OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
It is the intent of this ordinance that the duties of the Mayor and City Council under this ordinance shall not include hearing and deciding questions of interpretation and enforcement that may arise. Under this ordinance the Mayor and City Council shall have only the duties of:	(1) considering the adopting or
rejecting proposed amendments or the repeal of this ordinance as provided by law; and (2) of establishing a schedule of fees and charges as stated in Section 1202.
Section 1202. SCHEDULE OF FEES, CHARGES, AND EXPENSES
The Mayor and City Council shall establish a schedule of fees, charges, and expenses, and a collection procedure, for building permits, certificates of zoning compliance, appeals, and other . matters pertaining to this ordinance. The schedule of fees listed below shall be posted in the office of the City Clerk, and may be altered or amended only by the Mayor and City Council.
No permit, certificate, special exception, or variance shall be issued unless or until sucn costs, charges, fees, or expenses listed below have been paid in full, nor shall any action be taken on proceedings before the Mayor and City Council unless or until preliminary charges and fees have been paid in full.
1202.1	Before any action shall be taken by the Planning and Zoning Commission as provided herein, the party or parties proposing or recommending a change in the district regulations or district boundaries shall deposit with the City Clerk the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for eadi acre of land or poriton thereof for which a change
in classification is proposed or recommended to cover the approximate cost of this procedure; hcwever, the minimum fee shall not be less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) regardless of acreage, and the maximum fee shall not exceed two hundred	dollars	($200.00) which shall	apply
for all areas	of forty	(40) or	more acres; and under	no
condition shall said sum or any part thereof be refunded for failure of said diange to be adopted by the Mayor and City Council.
1202.2	Should a notice of appeal be filed a fee of fifteen dollars ($15.00)	shall be	paid to	the City Clerk at the	time
t-ic notice of	appeal is filed,	wliich shall be deposited
to the credit of the general revenue fund of the City of Bay St. Louis.
