I must really thank former Commodore Ray Stieffel for his original drawing now serving as our masthead. It is truly a work of art and is just what we were looking for!
While I’m at it, I should also thank Pete Chapman for his efforts in helping us improve our newsletter. Pete prints this thing every month and does the layout. How he deciphers what we give him every month (particularly my handwriting), I’ll never figure out!
Former Commodore Walter Gehrke has asked me to convey his heartfelt thanks to the many club members who were thoughtful enough to send him get well cards during his recent stay in the hospital. He is most appreciative of your kindness, and I know it made his stay a little more pleasant.
The ANNUAL MEETING is scheduled for December 12. Please plan to attend if you can.
LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Dear Editor:
Bobbie Leapley and her co-chairman, Gloria Woods deserve a' round of applause and should be complimented for their efforts that made the Ladies Auxiliary Pensacola trip a successful event! Motel and restaurant accommodations, daytime shopping and night spot tours as well as spontaneous “happenings” were superb! It was a fantastic weekend for R&R and for many others like myself, R, R & R (run, rest, and run again!). Only one question . . . next L/A trip .. . where, when and what time?
Lake Gaudin, L/A
THE REGULAR MEETING of the BWYC Auxiliary will be held on Tuesday, November 3rd, at 5:00 P.M. Bring along your $3.00 dues if you haven’t already sent them in! We’ll soon be ready to compile the new Auxiliary roster so be sure to make a note of any change of address or phone number when you pay your dues.
IF YOU HAVEN’T ALREADY JUMPED on the bandwagon for the new taxsaving certificates, we have an even better tax saver for everyone! Verna Brennan is again in charge of the Auxiliary BASKET of CHEER! Tickets are $1.00 each or six for $5.00, available from any Auxiliary member, and the lucky winner will have $85.00 worth of holiday cheer — all tax free ! ! ! The drawing will be held after the Stockholders Meeting on December 12th.
LOOKING AHEAD - The December meeting of the Ladies Auxiliary will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, at 11:00 A.M. A complimentary luncheon will be provided by the Board members following the Installation of Officers. To get into the spirit of the Joyous Season, we ask that each member bring a gift (not to exceed $3.00) to exchange at the meeting. Asa special feature of the meeting, Betty Breaux and Troupe will present an updated version of the Twelve Days of Christmas - you won’t want to miss it! ! !
