Commodores Corner
I can’t believe that summer is already here, and just in the nick of time the club will be ready for a very busy sailing season. By the time you read this letter we will have the new hoist in place, thanks to John Breeden, and his crew of workers. The Pier is finished, the pool is in operation and open for swimmers, the south wall of the dinning room has been rebuilt and the snack bar is just a few days from being completed.
We still have many projects in various stages of completion, but we can not continue at this pace for long. We have a handful of wonderful volunteers, and you know who you are, but the number of volunteers continues to decrease. We are wearing these people out. WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!
If you see something that you would like to do, please step right in and do it. We have a great opportunity to really show off our club, when we host the 50th annual Chapman Regatta, June 5th and 6th. This is my target date for getting the club ship shape. Now that I have said my peace I will get off my soap box.
As I said before the pool is open and ready for swimmers. The hours of operation for the pool are the same as the hours for the club. The pool registration is in this jib sheet and also in the office, so please sign up for the pool today! The Lifeguards will be checking to see if you are pool members and check for any guests. This year we are also enforcing the no ice chest rule in the pool area. We will have the snack bar in operation at peak times of the day and evenings so there is no need to bring your own beverages. The Ladies Auxiliary is running the snack bar and the profits will go toward worthwhile projects for the club.
Have you been in the dinning room lately? If not, you are missing a real treat. The service is good, the food is great and the view is out of this world. So come down to the club for Wednesday night buffets and Friday night dinner and experience what you have been missing.
What a way to get ready for the summer, a new manager is a great start! firan^ rspyhaai is our npw-gagnager and she ready to make sure that your visit to the club be a great one. She was manager of thePiaMgnclhead Country Club for 23 years. She has plenty of experience working with members and understands the fine art of pleasing customers. So next time you come down to the club please make her feel welcome.
