Seawall - Hancock County
The wall started in Hancock County in 1922 to protect Bay St. Louis downtown streets and buildings. The walls in Jackson and Hancock county are of Convex construction, entirely different from Harrison County type. All are set, however, on massive shafts of reinforced concrete sunk 8 to 20 feet into the shore. Hancock County dedicated completion of its seawall August 3, 1929.
