On Monday, August 8, 1870, there vill teke place at Biloxi a grand regatta in vhich ? r. Howard's teeutiful yacht fleet vill take part vith other yachts from the coast and T'obile. On Tuesday, August 9, there vill be a Skiff Race for all classes to be run under the skiff rules of Biloxi
(T<Jr; note: Per Picayune of Aug. 11, 1870, these dates vere chanfreg to Aug. 15-36 so as not to conflict vith the regatta at Boy Zt. Louis.)
The prizes in the first race are:
First Class	$150
f.econd Class	100
Third Class	75
Fourth Class	50
and in the Skiff Race:
ft75 is the first nrize 60 the second 50 the third
Tvo boats of each class trust sail to make a race.

Ample preparations vill be trade for the reception and entertainment of all guests and everything, ve doubt not, vill be done to make the occasion an enjoyable one.

On Von^ay, August 29, 1870, a grand regatta under the auspices of the Crescent City Yacht Club vill be run at Biloxi starting from the- pier head outside of Drer Island.
