BUILT IN 1956 BY ELEUTERIUS BOAT YARD IN BILOXI, MS FOR THE COASTS' FIRST NE WSPAPER THE DAILY HF.RALD. ROY ANDERSON JR. BOUGHT THE BOAT SOMETIME IN THE 1960's AND CHANGED THE NAME TO "JAMIE J.R.". THE BOAT WAS SOLD TO JOSEPH F. BOARDMANJR. IN JULY OF 1971 AND HER NAME WAS CHANGED TO "JOE BOY". WE DON'T KNOW WHO BOUGHT HER LATER ON. SOMETIME IN THE EARLY 1980's ROLAND WEEKS BOUGHT HER AND RESTORED HER ORIGINAL NAME "THE SECOND EDITION". ROLAND WEEKS IN TURN SOLD THE BOAT TO JOHN BATES AND CARL HAMILTON. JOHN DIX MEYER BOUGHT THE BOAT ON JULY 16, 1992 AND CONTINUES 'TO ENJOY HER ACCOMPANIED BY HIS WIFE MARISA.
THE SECOND EDITION IS A 42' TRADITIONAL CHANDELEUR BOAT POWERED BY A 471 DETROIT DIESEL ENGINE AND AN 8KW WESTERBEKE GENERATOR. SHE CARRIES 200 GALLONS OF FUEL AND 180 GALLONS OF WATER. THE SECOND EDITION IS USED AS A PR1VATE FAMILY PLEAS URE BOAT. THE SECOND EDITION STILL FREQ UENTS CHANDELEUR ISLAND AS WELL AS OTHER BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS IN THE GULF OF MEXICO AND MISSISSIPPI SOUND.
