JACKSON RIDGE PARK WINS FINAL BOARD APPROVAL
Monday.
The proposed park project had been a controversal Issue in the county over the past months. The project Is to be built with county, state, and federal funds. The million dol-
lar project, could have the potential, of developing Into several million as the growth of tourist business picks up on the Gulf Coast, over the next several years, according to several county officials.
The official motion that was made by the Supervisors is as follows:
Supervisor Joe Cuevas moved, seconded by Supervisor J.C. Mauffray that the Clerk Is hereby authorized and directed to
transfer $24,000 out of the General Fund to Parks and Playground Fund for the purpose of purchasing land and that the Parks and Playgrounds mlllage be used to reimburse the General Fund out of the mlllage
levy on record, as 11 becomes available, and that the Parks and Playgrounds Commission be notified that the Board of Supervisors of Hancock County Mississippi has the necessary matching funds available for the
Parks and Playground project on Jackson Ridge.
The motion was put to a roll call vote with the following results:
Those voting Yes: Cuevas, Elliott, Kellar, Mauffray,
Those voting No: Russ The motion having recelv the affirmative vote of a maji rlty of the members of t: Board of Supervisors, the Pr sldent declared It carried, th the 1st day of June, 1970
