The vessel will be 600 feet long and will ba equipped to carry 20 helicopters, 2, 000 combat equipped Marines and a Navy complement of 900 officers and men.
The Pascagoula area has also been eminently benefited by the recent announcement that Standard Oil Company of California is building a $125, 000, 000 refinery which will be the hub of a large industrial complex of patro-chemical companies end other related industries which will uce the by-products from this refinery.
