The growth of industry in the axea has spread the word about the "Gold Coast" farther and farther afield with resultant good effects on tourist and convention business. The remodernized and ever improving Edgewatar Gulf Hotel is receiving ever increasing amounts of business as a result of this and their own aggressive marketing campaigns.
Under the able management of Mr. Reginald G. Nefzger, one of the finest hotel men in the United States, the modernization program of the Edgewater Gulf Hotel is well underway and already starting to reap the rewards.
Again, the growth of the area as a whole can only increase the demand for good office space in the Gulfport area. The T-uirkham Hotel is ready to expand its already successful office space facilities to the upper floors which at present ejcs doing well as hotel space. The Markham, in addition to being a prime piece c£ real estate, has built a wonderful reputation over the years as a fine old Gulf Hotel. As such, the Markham continues to enjoy a large amount of repeat business in addition to being the ccnter of practically all the club and association activities (Lions, luwanis, etc.) in the area.
In conclusion, the v.-enderfui climate, the ideal natural resources, four lane U.S. 90 at the front door, Pass Christian Road to the rear, the new Industrial Seaway end Industrial ares which will bring new companies, people and wealth to the area, the new interstate #10 with seven interchanges in Harrison County, the NASA facility, the new Standard Cil Refinery at Pascagoula together with
