Taking Exit 16 off Interstate 10, the entry point of the Diamondhead community is located 15 miles north of Bay St. Louis in Hancock County, Mississippi. Diamondhead is 58 miles east of New Orleans and 87 miles west of Mobile, Alabama.
Located south of the Interstate is Diamondhead's marina, Yacht Club, airstrip, numerous residential developments and business establishments.
The majority of Diamondhead is located North of the Interstate. There you will find a shopping center, retirement home, contract postal unit, fire station, water and sewer system, a variety of businesses, churches, school, a country club, golf courses, swimming pools, community center, library, and homes.
Diamondhead has a private security force on duty 24 hours each day. Diamondhead is also under the jurisdiction of the Hancock County Sheriff's Department.
A full time professional fire department with top fire fighting equipment is located within the community.
Several congregations presently worship in the Diamondhead community: Annunciation Catholic Church, Saint Williams Catholic Church, Diamondhead Baptist Church, Diamondhead Community Church, Diamondhead Hebrew Congregation, Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, Gulf Coast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Diamondhead United Methodist Church and Faith Assembly of God.
