ATTORNEYS AND COUNSELORS AT LAW HOUSTON.TEXAS
Eov. 23d., 19Q5?
Mr. Jesse C. Wagner,
1606 Saratoga -t.,
Hew Orleans, La.
My dear Uncle
1	an in receipt of vours of the 22d., and in reply will state that on yesterday I was called upon in r'egrrd to a contract for the Trinity County land.
If x had tine to get up the data I could, I believe, push this claim through without the inteivention of an outside assistant.
It would take at least a month's examination of the records in La., and an endless amount of work in regard tff the examination of the records in 3ast Texas; besides a lot of surveying to obtain the proper parties. From what I understand, parties have been in possession of this land for ? leng time. In fact, our claim will be barred if some action is not taken at once. However, I am onl~ taking their word for this last statement. Under those circumstances I would be willing to sign a contract with the rest of the heirs, and try and get something cut of it, if it is only $10C.0C.
As to Kitchler, he h .j long since forfeited all rights by failure to act under this contract within a reasonable time, and I do not propose to consider him .further. Should they present a contract to me I will sign the same and forward tc you. Of course, I will have to get up all the proof of heirship, and will try to see if I can make these parties at least pay for that
