City recognizes volunteers-
Special to the Echo
Bay St. Louis concluded National Volunteer Week with a special reception for volunteers on the grounds of the historic Depot.
In cooperation with the Hancock County Retired and Senior Vounteer Program, the city recognized over 40 local volunteers for their service to schools, businesses, civic organizations and charity and social agencies.
Mike Cuevas, director of Cultural Affairs, said in her opening remarks, “Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community. Without their service we would not be the successful community Bay St. Louis has become.”
Volunteers were recognized
with a certificate of appreciation presented by Mayor Eddie Favre and special volunteer pins presented by Council President Carleen Murphy Moran.
