VIEW SHOWS WHERE SINKING OCCURED TO BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS ON BAY SIDE OF BEACH BLVD. IN BAY ST. LOUIS.
with stoppage of some work, loss of businesses, and destruction of a large percentage of residential and business property. Reconstruction is destined to be slow and difficult. Mayor Warren Carver wishes to assure the people of Bay St. Louis that he and the City Commissioners pledge to do all within their power to find help and will keep the community informed through the columns of the Sea Coast Echo of progress being made. Salvation Army Station Our Lady of Gulf Church Beach Front Bav St. Louis Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church on the Beach in Bay St. Louis was fortunately spared major damage and the Salvation Army set up a distribution center for clothing and other necessities in that building. Supplies were being trucked in through the courtesy of the Navy.
Also the St. Joseph’s dormitories escaped major damage. While St. Stanislaus College has an estimated half-million dollars in damages, authorities plan to open school on schedule. Mails Are Rolling Some Deliveries The Post Office in Bay St. Louis is holding mail for call at window for those whose homes,have been destroyed or abandoned. Some postal deliveries are being made where streets are passable. In-coming and out-going mail schedules are as usual. Water Service Being Restored in Areas As early as August 22 the City of Bay St. Louis was able to provide a limited water supply. Due to many broken pipes and leakage the citizens are fortunate in the fete accomplished by this crew.
Driftwood Motel Provides Luxuries As of August 22 the Driftwood Motel was able to provide Its occupants with electric lights, hot running water in s6me rooms, water in all rooms, with the ice making machine and cold drink machine functioning. Women workers swept open areas since staff crew was unavailable for service.
News Headquarters For	I
echo Moved to Ramada Ed Hall, manager of Sea Coast Echo, moved his staff from Camille Ravaged building into a hotel in order to provide subscribers within Hancock County area with all possible information and helpful suggestions needed to bring about relief in a variety of situations.
North America Comes Through with Help Also located in Ramada Inn are volunteer workers who assist families in locating storage space and hauling facilities wnere there is salvage furniture and/or personal possessions.
Blackledge Says Snake Bit Kits Now Available	;
W. L. Blackledae. administrator for Hancock General Hos-j pital announces that a limited supply of snakebite kits are] available, and a new supply on order are expected.
Nurses and Interns	'
N.O. and Slidell Aid	'
A crew of volunteer nurses and interns from the New Or-! leans and Slidell area made possible the treatment of many vicH times and the added help of these persons made possible preventative medications and innoculations needed to avert epidem-i ics. Local Hancock nursing and hospital staff announced drug companies came through with adequate quantities of needed drugs.
Ham Operators Give Endless Hours Operating from the Ramada Inn Headquarters the amateuj' radio operators announce they are ready and willing to send messages to all states giving information to relatives and loved ones and receiving messages to be picked up from that point.
