This is my first Official Greeting to my co-workers, and it is also my Christmas Greetings to the Circles. And may I not pause to say hew I like that name "Circle1' - Drop a pebble in some quiet pool and immediately there will be formed a circle, perfect in grace and design--this circle widens in its reach until it laps the shores and is caught up by the ring of flowers waiting to wed it. So it is with our "Circles". Their design is beautiful and there is no limit to the reaches as there is no end to a circle. Our "watchword” is "service" than which there is no nobler work in any language. It has its root in love, its promptings spring from the heart and its objective is tc carry happiness and relief to our fellowmen. Life holds no higher aspiration. Now then my dear co-workers all that is needed to put this into force is earnestness of purpose. If we employ this our work will go forward by leaps and bounds. But earnestness is absolutely necessary. without it there can be no real energy, and without energy there is no life. Think of those fanatics in India,i who under the urge of an insane religious resolution close their hands and never open them, and the finger nails grow entirely through their palms! What a terrible picture is this! Yet it illustrates a life that is dormant, a life of selfishness, a life of no service! If we neglect to use our powers, in time we will be powerless to use them. Therefore my dear co-workers my plea to you is to be earnest in your labors. Often we all need to call	upon our	reserve force to	put our
service into activity; but this is	really a	challenge to our	devotion	•
and since our service is "In His Name" I am assured no one of us will prove recreant to our duty.
It is my hope to be with you at some date convenient to us both, and I lookforward to it with	abundant	pleasure, since I am assured
I	will find you "up and doing" and	carrying	on the work with	zeal and
success. Our organization is prospering in the State, but there is yeJ a lot of work tc be done before the field is thoroughly covered. *1 k.»^..
I	can depend on your help, for without it I cannot hope to succeed.
In closing, I beg you to keep your interest live and flaming and then	Circle will take its rank among the
foremost in good achievement .
