ARTICLE X (Cont.)
In more recent years the population of Hancock County has increased, due largely to the coming of NASA, the Oceanographic program, other federal installations, many retired people and new industries at the port.
The church is fortunate and most grateful to have dedicated Christian leadership from some of these new families who have moved into the area.
The church also appreciated the generations of local families who have made Main Street United Methodist Church their church home, and will always be indebted to the many loyal members who have given countless hours of devoted service.
Children baptized, confirmed and reared in church school and married here, now see their children and grandchildren following in the tradition established to the glory of God by the founding fathers.
