MELENE, Capt. Chas., Pascagoula, Miss.
•	1900 - Schooner Anita rebuilt and renamed Alma F. Henry in April 1900. "Last Saturday at 4 o'clock p.m. the two masted schooner, Anita, after a general overhauling at Capt. Geo. Frentz's Shipyard, was successfully launched in the presence of a large gathering of interested spectators.
It will be remembered that the Anita was wrecked on Dixie Island, Ala., on November last (1899), but was subsequently recovered and towed to Mobile in a leaking condition, lumber laden, where she was condemned and sold to Mr. A. C. Puddington of New York. Her name will be changed to Alma F. Henry, in honor of the youngest daughter of Mr. S. S. Henry of Moss Point, who presented Capt. Chas. Melene with a beautiful flag at the launching. May the Alma F. Henry's career be always over smooth seas. DStar, April 9,1900.
•	1900 - The schooner, Griffin, Capt. Chas. Melene, arrived Tuesday at the Moss Point Lumber Co.'s Mill, from Sagua le Grande and commenced loading another cargo of lumber for the same port. DStar, Oct. 7,1900.

MEYERS, Capt. John
•	1900 - The schooner Lizzie H. Patrick, Capt. John Meyers, Master, made a record-breaking sail from Havana of 73 hours to Fort Morgan, Ala., arriving in the Pascagoula river on Thursday week. DStar, Oct. 5,1900.

MEYERS, Lemuel
•	1900 - On Friday last the body of Mr. Lemuel Meyers, the Mobile engineer, who was drowned a fortnight ago by falling overboard from the steamer Valeda, in West Pascagoula river, was recovered near the scene of the accident. The body was brought to Scranton on Mr. Norwood W. Alley's launch, engaged for that purpose. Mr. Charles Meyers, a brother of the unfortunate young man attended the burial, which took place in the Pascagoula cemetery, the same day. DStar, Mar.
