Voter Registration
How comes on registration ? Will the city poll a large vote at the November election ? I see that there are already about 3,500 registered as voters.
I vould have no particular objection to becoming a candidate for the Legislature If I could be elected; provided, that a Committee of Refreshments is created and myself appointed Chairman; for you know I am a good caterer.
You recollect the time when Gen. Buck S---------r, Jim P-----r,
Harry A-----e and myself went to the Lake for a dinner and I was
requested to do the calling, I made the very larder and wine cellar shake. I can call up a bigger bill for the State to foot than the Convention man can. Don't you think I can get votes enough to elect me ?
Police Department
New Orleans has improved a great deal within the last three years. I notice a thorough organization in the Police Department.
Mail Service Urged For Coast
If we had mail facilities, we could get the "Times" regularly.
Can't you get our worthy Postmaster to make up a coast mail for Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian, Mississippi City, Biloxi, Ocean Springs and Pascagoula, and send by the Government steamers, which are now running regularly three times per week, touching going and returning from Mobile at the above places ?
It would confer a blessing on many of us. By reference to your advertising columns you will see the days of departure. You could then write to your own folks - "Come over and see me, and bring your knitting."
Yours of old,
SNAP BEANS
