Messages From The Honorary Co-Chairmen
There is a Magic between Man and his habitat, this Planet Earth. To forget this or to ignore it plunges us into deep trouble. Through the Ages the Artist has been our guide back into this Land of Faerie. I wish for this Museum that it may provide a pathway for our guides and us, that here we may see the Visions of others and develop our own both as children and as adults. I hope that here in an interdisciplinary climate we may find the tools, the building blocks, that lead us back to beauty. The man you seek to honour here by the use of his name, by the preservation of his sometimes fragile works and by their display would have wished it so. From Pre-History through the Earth’s successive civilizations, he caught the vision of this Magic. We join him in the Quest.

THE GOVERNOR S MANSION JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI 39201
The legacy of love that Walter Anderson left for Mississippi is a lasting monument. We must preserve for all Mississippians his gift and his passion for our natural coastline. His work typifies the best of the creative artist and his environment, and this facility would be a visible reminder of his genius and of our shared heritage.
