New Officers for 1988-89 Term
Charlotte Woodward, Tulsa, Oklahoma, was elected president of the Orphan Train Heritage Society of America for the 1988-89 term at the OTHSA First Annual Reunion October 8th.
Woodward was one of those responsible for the creation of OTHSA and was one of its first members. She is also a member of the OTHSA Board of Directors.
Woodward’s grandmother, Carrie Salverson, was an Orphan Train Rider.
Shirley Quick, Springdale, Arkansas, was chosen as OTHSA secretary. Quick is an avid historian and genealogist. She is a long-time supporter of OTHSA.
Springdale businessman, Bob Hall, was selected treasurer.
“I want to thank our outgoing officers,
Donann Easterwood, Barbara Taylor, and Leroy Johnson, for their service to OTHSA during its initial months of operation,” Mary Ellen Johnson, OTHSA executive director, said. “We do appreciate your help and look forward to your continued support of OTHSA.”
