Journey of Recovery begins
Almost immediately after Hurricane Katrina struck, clean up efforts, restoration and reconstruction began. Parishioner and contractor, Mike Gibbens, set about restoring Our Lady of the Gulf Church.
Thousands of volunteers from around the country arrived to help in the clean up and reconstruction in the area. The local community and communities along the Mississippi Gulf Coast were deeply touched by the generosity, sacrifices, dedication and commitment of such volunteers.
