THE ORGANIZATION
Early in the year 2002 PaddleWheel Productions, a Mississippi Corporation, plans to open a repertory theatre in Waveland, MS, to be known as The Troubadours Theatre. This theatre will feature musicals reflecting life and activity at different times in the history of the area. The first musical will operate without rotation for approximately two months while the second musical is in rehearsal. The third, fourth, and fifth musicals will be added during the first two years of operation.
To enhance the possibilities of capturing as much as possible of repeat tourist and local markets, the musical rotation schedule will be interspersed with a variety of musical theatre concerts (such as an evening with Irving Berlin, or with Rogers and Hammerstein, etc.). The rotation schedule will be determined by the Board of Directors after thoroughly analyzing the tourist and local markets.
The rotating musicals are
1.	1600 Confederate Avenue. A warm, touching, and funny musical showing the hopes and dreams of black and white, young and old, when the South unexpectedly won the Civil War.
A new twist on an ever popular subject with songs of special appeal to all races and all areas of the country.
2.	RiverTown. Set in the state’s major river port in the late 1800’s, cotton and the Mississippi river dominate life from the stately drawing rooms to the rollicking river front. A fascinating look at the era through the lives of three families.
3.	Song of the Jay. Fictitious characters, but historically accurate picture of Mississippi during the Civil War, showing the search for survival of both blacks and whites. History buffs will like this one best.
4.	Crawfish Cotillion. A musical about explorers, native Americans, and settlers as their lives entwine in development of the Mississippi Gulf Coast during the 17th century. A lighter look
at the serious business of carving a new life in a new territory.
5.	Rocket. The story of a lively lady born on the Mississippi Gulf Coast on New Year’s Eve 1900, who will be 100 in the year 2000. Vignettes trace love, work, and humor of five generations. The history of the nation is reflected in life in Mississippi.
Initial plans call for five (5) performances per week: Thursday through Saturday nights with matinees on Saturday and Sunday. It is projected that the number of performances will be increased to eight (8) as the market demand increases. PaddleWheel Productions plans to employ fifteen (15) full-time and fifteen (15) part-time personnel initially. Part-time personnel will become full-time as production demands and the budget permits. The theatre will operate fifty (50) weeks of the year.
In addition, PaddleWheel Productions, Inc. will lease space to Theatre Plus, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which will teach classes in the performing arts and produce plays and musicals for children and teens.
THE LOCATION
Unable to find a building which could be effectively and reasonably renovated, PaddleWheel Productions plans to purchase four acres of land and build the 600 seat Troubadours Theatre at
