Attention: Publisher and Editor
Gentleman and Lady:
My daughter, Martha Nelson Frost, lives at 6131 Gin Road, Pearlington MS 39572. She gives me from time to time copies of The Historian of Hancock County, and I find them very interesting.
The May, 2000 issue reports that you are collecting photographs and historic items about places in the county. I am enclosing two items that may be of interest, and Martha plans to borrow your digital camera and take some photographs to supplement the information.
The Nelson family bought the Old Gin property on East Pearl River outside Pearlington from Weston Lumber Company in 1933 and the family has enjoyed it ever since. We camped out in tents the first year and in the summer of 1934 my father, brother and I built a "Camp" or weekend home at the site.
Over the years we have collected much information about the property and Pearlington in general. I have recorded much of it on my computer at home, identifying the files as "P’TOWN.OOX" for ready reference. I am sending you copies of:
P’TOWN.002 - KNOW YOUR	COAST - THE PEDIGREE	OF	PEARLINGTON
the origin of which is	self-explanatory.
P’TOWN.003 - Data from	"PEARLINGTON" - Dr.	Bill	Jenkins
who wrote a history of	the area.
I hope you will find the material interesting. Martha visits The Bay frequently, and comes to my office every week, so we can keep in contact as we develop more information.
Sincerely,
Waldemar S. Nelson
