The Montgomery VJhite Sulphur Springs in Virginia had solicited summer resort business in New Orleans including many long descriptive letters, particularly after Yellow Fever caused Mobile to adop*?T quarantine and were followed by many other cities.
By August 15, 1878, in a Special to the Picayune:
"This nlace has quarantined against all Yellow Fever infected districts.
Persons from those points are kept out 10 days."
