" I have inquired about and received a note you wrote at your mother?s home concerning the proposal of Mr,, Barthe'0 I want to assure you we will initiate a local action to respond to Mr0 Barthe?s offer,, 11

"Capt. Berns gave a report on Barthe's offer to do a statue of St. Louis for Bay St. Louis and read a letter from Prof, Ward of regarding the possibilities of financial support from organizations to help make this possible - to pay for the purchase of the needed material and its transportation 0
Hunter Kimbrough recommended we follow up this offer. A Motion was made that we support, to the fullest Mrs. Barthe's offer to put a statue of St0 Louis in Bay St. Louis, overlooking the Bay0 Motion seconded and passed. A motion was made that Capt- Berns appoint Fred Wagner as chairman to promote this. Motion seconded and passed by acclamation in favor."

Bums reported that Fred Wagner will be unable to serve as chairman of a committee to handle the arrangements to be made with the sculptorr Barthe' regarding the statue of St. Louis, he has offered to / for Bay. St. Louis. After discussion it was decided that Capt. Burns would contact several people regarding the chairman and set-up of this committee."
