BARTRAM TRAIL file
this week of being partial to an all Historical Trail. And had to remind them that I am a Camper, a fisherman, a Biker , Hiker, and love the woods. I'm also a member of the Sierra Club and the Historical Xociety. My Library on Mississippi and nemorabilia on the Civil War is supposed to be pretty good. I do take an impartial stand and my duty to the Conference and the Trail Committee is to arouse as much1 Public Concern as quickly as possible.Having succeeded in doing this I am to encourage the Committee to arrive fit a decision as to how best to carry the Trail Traveler whether he is atfincoming Tourist or residenl to show him the beauty both natural and historical in this great State-and use these Heritage Centers as an Indoctrination Centeri^To note his hobbies and interests, his education and to guide his path where he is most interested. This is such a challenge. It is possible that if the Center in Hancock County wjflere K&& placed in a very remote area would we not deprive Many Citizens in residenfc?in Bay St0Louis from using its museum-like qualities- would we stand a better chance of having the Historical Society keep a watchful eye on the Governement employees who would be there and to see that all was protected properjtly ? darn I wish I could type- but my handwriting is worse.
Well- there are many complex problems to be worked out but this will be a pleasure I assure you- anytime you can work out something beautiful with Government money what a party this is. It will be spent properly-it will be a thing of beauty and completely useful in every J5|[|fway.
I can only promise you and Mr. Fernandez that when it comes to Hancock C County I will see to it that you will be in on the planning stage.
I cannot think of any other way. Certainly if I were born and raised in Hancock County I would want my voice heard. I will keep you informec and send you a copy of the next meeting minutes so you will understand what went on0	Thank	you again for writing and forgive me for not
sending you a note. I had to write some BIG letters last week and they kinda threw me until I got 'em out of my head.
Please call me if you find you are coming to Jackson and we'll have lunch. , .
