cultural properties; and the full range of tasks before us. I applaud your president, Frederick Williamson's,* emphasis on sound management of State programs and tight administration of Federal grant monies apportioned for Statewide and project activities under the Historic Preservation Fund.

*Williamson is president of the National Conference of State Historic Preservation Officers and director of Rhode Island's Department of Community Affairs.
