Favre ? Greatest
Mississippi, not everyone had heard' of the nomination, but no one seemed surprised. Signs announcing Favre?s birthplace and a mural on a local store commemorate the success of the more-than-15-year veteran quarterback. Locals are used to people visiting the area, many from Wisconsin, where Favre plays with the Green Bay Packers.
?They want to see where Brett is from and they want to talk to us about him,? said Star Cameron, who said she is married to Brett?s wife Deanna?s godfather. ?A lot of the Green Bay people sign the wall (the mural wall on the north side of Dolly?s store).?
?He?s a pretty good person and a very good football player- not too many people can play ball like that,? Star said. ?And of course he also helps disadvantaged children with the charity he and Deanna have.?
Earnest	Cameron,
Deanna?s godfather, thought the nomination was great.
?He?s a great fellow,? said Earnest. ?He helps a lot of people and he?s a clown, a funny guy.?
Both Earnest and Star said that when Favre is home, he still likes to ride the tractor on the family property and ?he always invites us to parties and is real friendly,? said Star.
Two young men stopping by the store, Beau Shubert and Dustin Johnson, said they didn?t know Favre personally, but knew of him, of course. Both agreed that he?s a great quarterback 1 - wood player.
the news but that his special events coordinator had.
?It?s quite an honor to be compared to presidents and other prestigious people? said Bonita. ?I?m sure he knows, but he hasn?t called me - he knows I read the paper and keep informed, though. There?s no doubt about it that he is one of the greatest quarterbacks and he does a lot of charity work.
?I don?t know who nominated him but his fans in Wisconsin love him-they are unbelievable - they were

lined up even at my book signing - I couldn?t believe they wanted to see me.? Like any mother, Bonita is most proud of the simple things.
?I?m proud of the way he turned out ... he?s a good family man and a good father and he?s always been a leader.?
Favre?s wife Deanna was recently given the all-clear on her bout with breast cancer and Favre, who had taken a brief hiatus, will return to play next season, he has announced.
