G.	JOSEPH DUCREY BOURGEOIS (1HC1G) born August 22, 1871 bap-tised November 19, 1871 (OLG BB 2 p 16 A 96) and the old "Bourgeois Diary" states that he married May 31, 1897 to CHRISTINE KATY FREY and the family resided in Waveland, Mississippi.
His headstone in the Waveland Cemetery states that he died July 25, 1923.
IV.	LEANDRE "LEON""GRISWELL" FAVRE (2BC2D), as entered in the old "Bourgeois Diary" was born July 23, 1831 and died 3/22/1922 (OLG Record of Interments, p 50A). He resided in the Waveland, Ms. area and was twice married. His first marriage was to SARAH "SALLY" MORRIS and this was confirmed to me by one of his living granddaughters. He was second married, with dispensation of 2? consanguinity, on 3/28/1864 to CELESTINE LaFONTAINE (OLG MB 1 p 45 A 156).
The Ladner Odyssey, p. 245, identifies her as 1EB1G. Celes-tine LaFontaine, b c 1832, d/o Jean "Cadet" LaFontaine and 1EB1. Celestine "Chariot" Favre. OLG Record of Interments, page 27, states "Celestine LaFontaine Favre, age 67 years,
died 5/28/1899".
On his very old and rotting cypress headboard in Bayou Caddy Cemetery, his death date is the same as is reported above from OLG Record of Interments - 3/22/1922 - except it also says that he died "Age 95 years plus 9 months".
If we assume that this is accurate, then he would have been born in 1827. However, there are many conflicting records in regard to his actual birth date. In the 1900 Hanco census, house 233 in Beat 5, he is listed as born July 1829.
In the 1880 Hanco census he is listed as born 1832. In the
1870	Hanco census he is listed as age 37 or born 1833. In the very old "Bourgeois Diary" which contains many birth, marriage and death dates of the Bourgeois and related families of which I have a photo-rcopy, he is listed as "Leond Favre, Borne July 23, 1831 - died March 23, 1922". Until a better birth date is found, I have assigned July 23, 1831 as his birth date as stated in the old "Bourgeois Diary".
Much of the following information was told to me by Mrs. Agnes Sprinkle and Wilemena McArthur of Pass Christian, Miss, in December 1973. They are both granddaughters of Leandre Favre. They said that Leandre lived near Waveland in the Edwardsville community and was a veteran of the War Between the States. He met and married his first wife,
Sarah "Sally" Morris "up in Mississippi" around Laurel or Columbia, Miss, as they recalled. They said that there was one child born of this marriage whose name was Marie Mathilde, better known as Mathilde or "Tady" and that she was turned over to her grandmother (Eulalie Ladner Favre) when she was about nine months old because her parents had
