I received the token along with the "Peerless" write-up in the Visitors Guide. Immediately, I took it to show my father. Assuming that it was a store token I identified it to him as such. Right away he corrected me. These tokens were passed out to the plant workers as they completed the filling of shrimp or oyster containers.
Dad is presently ill with a severe cold and I did not question him further. Perhaps the tokens were used as substitute currency at the company store. I'll advise you as I learn more.
