I was suffering very much from the tooth ake. I have been in a
prettie bad state for	the	last two	weeks, but I am happie to say

I did not like to go to Col Claiborne even if I did he was not at
home he left a few days after Pa started and has not returned. I
sit down and wrote a few lines to Missrs MacGregor [Alleway] & Co
to send me the amount I thought would be sufficient, which was
$30.00. I dont know whether I did right or not. I was in such
pain both night and day that it seemed impossible for me to wait

draw with them I then	got	old	Ben to pull it out for me which of
course relived me. And I am now as well as ever. I however intend going to New Orleans any way for I have another tooth which I fear will soon begin to ake which aught to be pluged. My expences whould be a good deal. I would have to take Billy with me to the Bay of St Louis whear he would have to remain all night my expences ovr to the city and back again the fair at the Hotel having my tooth pluged. And I am out of shoes and boots and all of my summer clothes are to small. I received a letter from Brother since I have been here. he was very well and in very fine spirits. he wished to know whether their was any prettie
