When I was at the Bay last week, Louie the man that keeps the hotel told me he had two puppys for you that you got them when you were down, and could not keep them, he sayed it was too much expence so I took them home, they will, expect, make fine dogs but they are great rascals. I cant keep them out the house, and they tare up every thing they can get. they came very near destroying my new hat.
I find my cloths scattered at times all over the grond. I will now close by sending love to all.

Col C- told me when I wrote to give his regards and tell you he values of the Russ place more than he ever did, he says some of the high cleard land, you never saw will bring a bale to the Acre, And says some that you bought from Judge B- will bring a bale to the acre. he is so perfectly delighted with his place he bought next to Judge Beverlys' I think he will remain there both winter and summer.
I had to spend $10 of the money you left with me to buy the [plank] with. And I wish you would send $10 to me when you write, in time to get the [plank].
