16 back at Jones
With 16 lettermen turning out for workouts the Valena C. Jones grid squad Is going to he a strong one, predicts Coach Willie Drndley wlio Is pretty happy with his prospects. The upcoming team boasts speed in the backs, weight on the line, and plenty of numbers just in case.
Sparked by Ulysses Sheppard who was all-conference fullback last year and now only a |unlor, the VCJ team is right and ready. Included intheback-.leld wili be Captain Robert Wlmvers,	Martin Collins,
Thaddcus Williams, lidwnrd Weavers, James Peters and Russell Nichols.
Returning lettermen on the line will be center Arthur Clementine; guards Milton Collins and Alton Hargett; tackles A-ipsde Collins, Clenord Pruitt,
' .rry Peters, and Joe Mitchell, Jr.; with endinen Alexander Acker and Eddie McCarty. Coach Dradley sees pre-season possibles for backfleld in Robert Williams, Lionel Hawkins, Ned Legendre, or Thomas Williams; and he?ll be breaking In younger linemen Emmlt Acker, Curt Fairconnetue, Ronald Allow, Nathan Acker, Lawrence Sanders, Clarence Wllkerson, Ronald Watts, Roger Price, and Clarence Hall.
