HE WAS BORN IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA ON APRIL 5, 1795, THE SON O F JEAN PIERRE LAFONTAINE AND MARGARET FAVRE CADET HAD TWO SISTERS AND ONE BROTHER HIS SISTERS WERE URANIE WHO MARRIED LAURENT FAYARD AND CAROLINE ? CARMELITA? WHO MARRIED CHARLES FAVRE, SON OF SIMON FAVRE. CADET?S BROTHER DIED AS AN INFANT.
CADET?S GRANDFATHER MARRIED MARIE ELIZABETH MARCOSSIN dit. DUBOIS THIS PIERRE LATER LIVED ON DEER ISLAND AND RAISED CATTLE. HE BECAME A LAND OWNER AND WAS IN THE WAR OF 1812, FOR WHICH HE RECEIVED MORE LAND AS PAYMENT, WHICH WAS CALLED A MILITARY BOUNTY ?j. LAND GRANT. HIS WIFE CELESTE WAS ON A LIST OF PERSONS RECEIVING PENSIONS, DATED 1-1-1883, HE DIED IN 1854 CADET SETTLED IN THIS SMALL COMMUNITY AND ALONG WITH I US WIFE CELESTE FAVRE I IAD AND RAISED EIGHT CHILDREN, THREE (ilRI ,S AND FIVE HOYS THEY ALE LIVED IN THIS SAME AREA EXCEPT THE YOUNGEST SON, HE LIVED IN DILLVILLE NOW CALLED BAYOU LACROIX, THEY ALL HAD LARGE FAMILIES
WHEN CADET DIED HIS WIFE CELESTE GAVE 4.3 ACRES OF LAND FOR A FAMILY CEMETERY AND HIS SON GAVE. 1 ACRE: Km Tl IE FAMII.
